Girls, be ambitious!

2016 | Pokemon + Original Character

For a picture commemorating Pokemon’s 20th anniversary, I decided to draw all the protagonists I’ve had the pleasure of playing as and writing about these last couple of decades. These girls have gotten me through some tough times and taken me on adventures beyond my wildest dreams. We’ve shared battles, filled Pokedexes, traveled the globe, solved mysteries, saved the world, and even fallen in love–or not; sometimes there were more important things than that. In sharing their stories, I feel like I’ve grown little by little into someone a little stronger, a little kinder, a little braver than before.

Thanks for the memories Pokemon, and let’s have another 20 years of adventure together!
