Idol MAVs

2026 | Gundam GQuuuuuuX

I had originally drawn this for the first anniversary of Men-Ai Variation (ie the day I opened up a document to start writing it). I used a slightly different coloring style for the first version as I was trying to get it done on time to post on the day.

While I was happy with this version, I had also been thinking about making photocards of the boys’ idol designs – since photocards originate from idol culture, it was a natural next step. I decided that instead of painstakingly redrawing my existing cards (older, needed a lot more work) I would just give this drawing the full color treatment and have them share a card instead. The colors and background were deliberately meant to match the Men-Ai Variation cover.

Photocards with this design may be available in my shop in the future, or I might include them with the Men-Ai Variation artbook. I’m still deciding.
