Men-Ai Variation

2025 (retouched in 2026) | Gundam GQuuuuuuX

Cover illustration for my fanfic “Men-Ai Variation”, which explores an alternate universe where Char and Challia are pop idols instead of mech pilots. The fic is still ongoing at the time of this writing.

I styled the cover after Japanese self-published fancomics (“doujinshi”), which I have been an avid reader of for a long time. After about a year my style had shifted such that I couldn’t look at the original copy anymore and I came back to touch it up a little, which is the version shown here.

I plan to at some point make an artbook containing my illustrations for this fic, but I will probably wait until I’m done writing it and have drawn everything I want to draw before I put that together. (I can’t sell copies of the fanfic itself, due to site policy on the archive I’m posting it to).
